Muhammad in the bible..

As-salamu `alaykum wa rahmatullah...... Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim...

Muhammad in the Bible..

Deuteronomy , chapter 18, verse 18..( the fifth book of the cristian and jewish bible) :

“ I will raise them up a Prophet
from among their brethren
like unto thee,
and I will put my words in his mouth;
and he shall speak unto them
all that I shall command him” (Deut. 18 : 18)

PROPHET LIKE MOSES

The Christian thinks that this verse  refers to Jesus ( Isa a.s) . why? They thinks that  “ like unto thee” which means like you…like Moses ( Musa a.s ), and according to them, Jesus is like Moses.

When you ask for reason, this will be their answers :
(1)Jesus is like Moses because both of them are Jews.
(2)Jesus is like Moses because both of them are Prophets..

However, Ahmed Deedat said that if these are the only two criteria for discovering a candidate for this prophecy of Deuteronomy 18:18, in that case the criteria would fit anyone of the following Biblical personage after Moses : - Solomon, Isaiah, Ezekial, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Malachi, John the Baptise, etc. this is because all of them are jews Prophets.

Ahmed Deedat  concluded that JESUS IS MOST UNLIKE MOSES,

There are 3 difference between Jesus and Moses are :

(1)In the first place, Jesus is not like Moses because according to the Cristians- Jesus is a God, but Moses is not God.
Therefore Jesus is not like Moses.

(2)Jesus died for the sins of the world but Moses did not have to die for the sins of the world. Therefore Jesus is not like Moses.

(3)Jesus went to Hell for 3 days, but Moses never went to hell. Therefore Jesus is not like Moses.
But you must be aware that this is not solid and hard facts but just a matter of simple logic..

=3

However…he(Ahmed Deedat)  then presents 8 Irrefutable Argument regarding the Topics :

1)FATHER AND MOTHER :

Moses and Muhammad had a father and a mother. However Jesus only have a mother. Therefore Jesus is not like Moses but Muhammad is like Moses.

2)MIRACULOUS BIRTH:

Moses and Muhammad were born in the normal ,natural way while Jesus was created by a special miracle. In the Gospel of St. Matthew 1: 18

“ Before they came together, (joseph the capenter and Mary) She was found with a child by the Holy Ghost.”
And St. Luke tells us that when the good news of the birth of a holy son was announced to her,

Mary reasond :

“…How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest  shall overshadow thee..”
(Luke 1 : 35)

Quran comfirms the miraculous birth of Jesus in nobbler and sublime terms.

In answer to her logical Question question :

In English :

“O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?The angel says in reply: ‘ Evan so:Allah createth
what he willeth: when he hath decreed a Plan, He but saith to it “Be” and it is!”
(ali-imran: 47)

In malay :

Apabila Allah berkehendak menetapkan sesuatu, maka Allah hanya cukup berkata kepadanya:
"Jadilah", lalu jadilah dia.”
(Ali-imran : 47)

Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses but Muhammad is like Moses..

3) MARRIAGE TIES :

Moses and Muhammad married and begot children, but Jesus remained a bachelor all his life. Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses but Muhammad is like Moses..

4) JESUS REJECTED BY HIS PEOPLE

Moses and Muhammad were accepted as Prophets by their people in their lifetime. No doubt the jews gave a lot of trouble to Moses and Muhammad but they finally  acknowledge their prophecy. However, Jesus was rejected by the Jews, as a whole even after two thousand years.

5) “OTHER-WORLDLY” KINGDOM..

Moses and Muhammad were Prophets as well as kings. Prophet is a man who receive Divine Revalation for the Guidance of Man and this Guidance he conveys to God’s creatures as received without any addition or deletion. A king is a person who has the power of life and death over his people. It is immaterial whether he wears a crown or not, or whether he was address as king or monarch : if a man has the prerogative of inflicting capital punishment - He is a king.
Some of the prophets of God were helpless against the stubborn rejection of God. For example , Lot,Jonah, Daniel, Ezra and John the Baptist. Unfortunately, Jesus belong to these category. The Gospel clearly comfirms this : when Jesus was dragged before the Roman Governor , Pontius Pilate,  charged for sedition (charged of rebellion), Jesus made a convincing point in his defence to refute the false charge :

Jesus answered,

“ My kingdom is not of this world” : If my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now is my kingdom not from hence” (john 18: 36)

This convince Pilate ( a pagan) that though Jesus might not be in full prosesion of his mental faculty, he did not strike him as being a danger to his rule. Jesus claimed a spiritual kingdom only; in other world he only claimed to be a prophets.
Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses but Muhammad is like Moses..

6) NO NEW LAWS :

Moses and Muhammad brought new laws and new regulations for their people. Moses not only gave 10 commandments to the Israelites, but a very comprehensive ceremonial law for the guidance of his people of his people. While Muhammad brings civilization to  the people of barbarism and ignorance.

As regards Jesus, when the Jews felt suspicious of him that he might be an imposter with design to pervert their teaching, Jesus assure them that he had not come with a new religion- no new laws and no new regulations.

Jesus said:

“ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the Prophets : I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill for verily I say to you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one titles shall in no wise pass the law, till all be fulfilled.”
(Matthew 5: 17-18)

In other words he had not come with any new laws or regulations ; he came only to fulfill the old law. This is what he gave the jews to understand.

7)HOW THEY DEPARTED :

Both Moses and Muhammad died natural death, but according to Christianity, Jesus was violently killed on the cross.
Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses but Muhammad is like Moses..

8)HEAVENLY ABODE

Moses and Muhammad both lie buried in earth, bur according to you, Jesus rest in heaven.
Therefore, Jesus is not like Moses but Muhammad is like Moses..

Ahmed Deedat has proven that the prophecy of the following verse in the bible...

“ I will raise them up a Prophet
from among their brethren
like unto thee,
and I will put my words in his mouth;
and he shall speak unto them
all that I shall command him” (Deut. 18 : 18)

is actually refers to our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w not Jesus (Isa a.s)..
Extracted from “ The Choice” by Ahmed Deedat, chapter 2 page 7-14..

This is in my own words…please correct me if I was wrong…because the book was written in such a way that reads like Ahmed Deedat was speaking for himself( first person point of view or story telling)..

Barakallah feekum…
